Customer Support Engineer – SaaS Platform

August 2025

We're looking for a Customer Support Engineer who combines strong technical understanding with excellent communication skills. You’ll support MotorDesk users via chat, email, phone, and video calls, helping them solve problems, set up systems, and get the most out of the platform.

This isn't just a ticket-based support role. You’ll handle issues involving DNS, email systems, no-code website editors, accounting processes and data imports, to name a few. You will assist in onboarding new dealerships, setting up their websites, and translating technical challenges into practical solutions.

What you'll do...
  • Provide technical support to MotorDesk customers across multiple channels (chat, email, phone, video)
  • Assist new customers during onboarding - including site configuration, email/domain setup, and invoicing preferences
  • Troubleshoot a broad range of issues involving domain names, email routing, accounting workflows, and data imports
  • Personalise and fine-tune customer websites using no-code tools
  • Deliver live product training sessions for customers (via video call)

  • Have strong technical intuition - you understand how websites, email, and cloud software work

  • DNS, domain configuration, or email setup
  • Web design or CMS experience (e.g., WordPress, Wix, Webflow)
  • Understanding of accounting concepts & software (invoicing, VAT, reconciliation, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Experience with SaaS support tools (ticketing, live chat, CRM)
  • Knowledge of the motor trade or car sales industry

We're looking for a PHP Developer to join our team and help shape the future of the MotorDesk platform. You’ll work across a wide range of projects - from building simple website modules to developing full-scale integrations and enhancing our core system - always with a focus on performance, usability, and clean, efficient code.

MotorDesk is an all-in-one ecosystem for the automotive industry, combining stock management, invoicing, website development, social media automation, and over 100 third-party integrations into a single seamless platform. As part of the development team, you’ll play a key role in expanding its functionality and delivering a great experience for our customers.

This role starts full-time in the office, with the option for hybrid working once you’re fully trained.

What you'll do...
  • Develop and enhance features across the MotorDesk platform
  • Build and refine website modules, integrations, and core functionality
  • Work with PHP, SQL, and front-end technologies to create efficient, scalable solutions
  • Contribute to improving performance, user experience, and system reliability

  • Have at least 3 years experience in PHP development and enjoy working with large codebases
